More Cool Technology, Right Here In Akron

Micah HattonHappy Friday. As summer ends and fall begins, there are happenings all over this great state, but in our own backyard, there are some pretty big things…
Remember those funny little cars from the movie Austin Powers: Goldmember? Well, if you've ever wondered what they were or where they came from, look no further. At the time when the movie was filmed in 2002, the cars were known as the Corbin Sparrow, built by Corbin Motors.

Let's fast-forward to Akron, Ohio 2008. Now called the Meyers NmG (No more Gas), the cars are manufactured right here in the Rubber City. These cars operate not only on battery power, but also on the premise that people almost always drive alone, and they drive less than 30 miles a day.

Is Akron destined to be the new capital of electric cars like we were with tires so many years ago? Only time will tell, but thanks to Meyers Motors, we're staking our claim.

In the spirit of taking on challenges and staking claims, our very own Brian Deagan will be running in the Road Runner Akron Marathon tomorrow, September 27. Good luck Brian!

Here’s our CEO, Brian, driving the car around the
hallway outside our front office door. It’s really
quiet. We didn’t hear him until he honked.

Here’s Brian driving again. Yes, we gave the car back.
