Knotice at the 2009 Annual Summit

Josh GordonIt is that time of year again. There is a brisk chill in the air… which means it is time to fly to Las Vegas for the 2009 version of's Annual Summit, September 21-23.
There are a number of cool things that Knotice will have our hands in at the Summit, and also some great content, as usual.
If you happen to be at the Summit this year, drop by our booth, #619. Like last year attendees will be able to play Rock Band, only this year you can play Beatles Rock Band with all of the Beatles gear. If that's not enough, the highest scoring 3-person band from the show will win a free Netbook and $500 worth of iTunes gift cards. You can also enter our drawing to win a free Netbook if you are not brave enough to rock out.

Knotice is also’s mobile partner for the show this year. That means we’ll be helping incorporate mobile into their attendee feedback strategy by allowing attendees to rate each session using their mobile phone. Anyone who attends a keynote presentation or breakout session can also text their question to the moderator for the Q&A session (this is pretty slick, by the way!).

I will be blogging from the event and providing some analysis of some specific sessions and keynote presentations.

The first keynote from Macy’s Chairman, President and CEO Terry Lundgren is of particular interest. Macy’s and Bloomingdales have improved their online sales and their in-store sales by adopting a “360-degree” perspective on consumers. Given the value of direct digital marketing, it will be interesting to see how Lundgren and Macy’s have adopted the marketing approach’s basic tenets into their strategy and what the results have been.

Forrester Research Vice President and Principle Analyst Sucharita Mulpuru is back this year giving her annual State of Online Retailing address. The dynamic and informative presentation is a can’t miss and always yields helpful insights and effective forecasts for retailers and solution providers alike.

There are many other presentations I will be analyzing, too. Check back next week early and often for updates from the Summit!
